Richard Hand Sander

A 9" x 3 1/4" hand sanding block from Richard with clamp ends that grip a sanding screen or cut sheet and hold it taut.

The clamps are the point — paper that stays tight sands evenly, instead of folding over and rounding off the edges of your work. Good for walls, patched drywall, trim and doors at arm's reach, and it takes the same screens as the pole sander so you're not buying two sizes of abrasive.

Good to know

Screens clog less than paper on drywall compound and can be knocked clean and reused. For compound, 120–150 grit is the usual choice; go finer for the final pass before priming.

Before you prime

Vacuum the dust and wipe the surface down after sanding. Primer will not bond properly through the chalky film that drywall compound leaves behind.
