Choosing and using Messmer's
Which Messmer's product do I need?

Standard UV Plus will not penetrate dense tropical hardwoods properly. If your deck is Ipe or similar, you need the Hardwoods formula. If you are not sure what species you have, bring us a photo or an offcut.
Why Messmer's holds up in Calgary

Prep is 80% of the job
Messmer's performs exactly as well as the surface you put it on. On any wood that has greyed, sat through a season of rain, or carries an old finish, run the two-step Cleaner + Brightener first, then let the wood dry 24–48 hours before staining. New redwood should weather 6–8 weeks before its first coat.
