Need a stain colour matched — to an existing piece, a sample, or just a vision in your head? Our team custom-blends stains in-house to get you the right shade.

For custom matches, we use the General Finishes Enduro Ready-to-Match (RTM) system — a premium, water-based stain built for accurate, repeatable colour matching. It can be brushed or sprayed on, giving us the flexibility to dial in the exact shade you're after.

A proper stain match means mixing, testing, and dry-down time on your actual wood, so custom stain matches typically take 2–3 business days. We recommend building this into your project timeline, especially if you're working toward a deadline.

What to Bring In

A physical sample of the colour you're matching to — if it's an existing stained piece, a small sample of that finish works best.
A sample of the new wood you'll be staining. Different species and grain absorb stain differently, so we test the match on your actual substrate whenever possible.
