SICO Cetol 23 Plus Topcoat - Calgary

SICO Cetol 23 Plus (formerly Sikkens Cetol 23 Plus) is a premium, translucent topcoat with advanced alkyd resin and UV absorbers, designed to finish and protect exterior wood siding, doors, trim, and logs.

Specifications

• Type: Alkyd translucent topcoat with UV absorbers, gloss sheen
• Coverage: Smooth wood: 400–500 sq ft/gal; Rough wood: 200–300 sq ft/gal
• Dry Time: Touch-dry in 4–6 hours; recoat after a minimum of 24 hours at 68°F/65% RH (longer below 50°F or in high humidity)
• VOC: <490 g/L
• Application Temperature: 50–95°F
• Number of Coats: 1–2 coats over the basecoat (2–3 coats of basecoat plus 1 coat of this topcoat for log applications, depending on log type)

Recommended System

Cetol 23 Plus is a topcoat only — it must be applied over Cetol 1 basecoat, never directly onto bare wood.

• New system: 1 coat of Cetol 1, then 1–2 coats of Cetol 23 Plus.
• Maintenance recoat: Every 2–3 years on south/west-facing exposures, or 3–4 years on north/east exposures — 1 fresh coat of Cetol 23 Plus.
• Weathered wood before recoating: Clean and brighten with Messmer's Wood & Deck Cleaner + Brightener first.
