Woodluxe All-In-One Wood Cleaner - Benjamin Moore Calgary

Woodluxe® All-In-One Wood Cleaner (K018) is the maintenance cleaner — the one you use on every deck job. It removes dirt and the staining left by mould, mildew, algae and standing water, back to a surface stain can actually bond to.

This is the step most people skip, and it's why their stain fails early. Staining over a dirty or contaminated surface means the finish is gripping debris rather than wood. It looks fine for a season, then lets go.

It isn't only for wood — Benjamin Moore also lists it for vinyl, stucco, concrete, pavers, brick and fibreglass.

How to use it

1. Dilute. Maximum 7:1 water to cleaner. One gallon makes up to eight gallons of working solution. For a normal job, mix half a can with 3½ cans of water; for stubborn areas, half a can to 2½ cans of water.
2. Apply liberally with a plastic garden sprayer, brush, or a power washer chemical injector. On vertical surfaces work bottom to top.
3. Let it stand several minutes.
4. Agitate with a stiff bristle brush along the grain, then rinse with a hose or power washer.
5. Let it dry thoroughly before any finish goes on.

Never mix in a metal container, and never combine it with other cleaners or chemicals. Pre-wet surrounding plants and move metal furniture and fixtures out of the way — they can tarnish.

Heavily greyed wood? The cleaner alone won't bring it back. Benjamin Moore specifies Woodluxe Wood Restorer (K016) for that.

Safety

Causes burns. Contains sodium hypochlorite and sodium metasilicate. Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses, work in a well-ventilated area, and keep it off skin, eyes and clothing. Keep out of reach of children.
